One of his stops will be at the QTH of Mr. Khamfangh who is the chief engineer of KPL in Laos. There he has a 30 meter high tower, a rig and a one kilowatt amplifier. When he gets to Vientiane he will be renewing his XW2A license. Later this year in the fall he plans to activate another new IOTA from Vietnam. He says the Vietnam MPT will issue him a special callsign for this operation. More details as he gets closer to the actual date. Hiroo reminds everyone when QSLing any of his operations to go via XW2A, P.O. Box 2659, Vientiane, LAOS. Only send IRC's, as US dollars are illegal in Laos. Tom, VK0TS, will be on 80 meters today at 10:15Z. He should be on 14222 at 04:30Z. Jim, VK9NS, takes a list about 04:00Z. Rafa, EA5FKI, reports he is not going to Libya as stated in some of the DXoutlets including The Daily DX. He apologizes for any problems this may have caused. Al, KK5ZX, reports he will be arriving on Johnston Island, KH3, around 20 August and hopes to be operational by 23 August. He will be working on the island and states this is not a DXpedition. However he does plan be active when not working. Al says "If all goes as planned I will be on every 3rd and 4th day." He will not be taking any gear as he will not have room, but there is a club station on the island. They have a decent setup on 10, 15 and 20 meters. Al hopes to do some 30, 40, 80 and 160 meter action. Look for him on CW mostly, with some SSB. Just a reminder that The Daily DX will not be published the week of 4 August as your editor and his family will be on vacation. Ron Wright, ZL1AMO, tells The Daily DX that he will be on Fiji as 3D2RW from 13 August to 20 August. He plans to be active on 160 meters. On 21 August he head to Japan and will stay with Zorro, JH1AJT. Ron will return to Fiji on 8 September. QSL via ZL1AMO. ____________________________________________________________________ QSN ____________________________________________________________________ 5A1A - LIBYA - Abubaker was found on 14270 at 11:45Z and later on 14243 for about 1 hour just before 17:00Z. 5W1PC - WESTERN SAMOA - Perry was active on 21260 and 21360 from just before 02:00 to 05:00Z working all of the US except for the Mid-Atlantic and New England areas. Perry is a school teacher and is usually on during the weekends due to his job. He uses a FT-757 and a delta loop and can be found on 15, 17 and 20 meters. EP2MKP - IRAN - Started the day on 10102 just before 18:00Z and was found just after 19:00Z on 7005 for about an hour or more. QSL via UV6HPV. ET3AA - ETHIOPIA - Was up on 14300 at 15:15Z working Europe. HV4NAC - THE VATICAN - Yuki, JH1NBN, was able to get on for a short stint on 14192 around 11:15Z. T33JH - BANABA - Jack started off on 14195 just before 06:00Z as he was working Japan, central and west US stations. At 07:30Z he was found on 7080. He was then back on 14195 from 08:00 to 10:00Z. Then finally he showed up on 3798 just before his power went off at 10:00Z. YI - IRAQ - YI9SK and YI9VK were switching back and forth on 18088 between 19:00 and 21:00Z. Then at 21:00Z they showed up on 7012.
