Hrane said he will be operating from 3V8BB during the IARU HF World Championship Contest on 12 and 13 July. If you missed the CY9AA operation from Saint Paul Island don't fret as another group is planning to be there from 23 July to 6 August signing CY9SPI. The group will consist of: Robbie, VY2SS, Bob, VY2RO, Bill, VY2LI, Art, VY2KHZ/W3KHZ and Paul, VY2CD. They plan to be multi-op in the RSGB IOTA Contest on 26 and 27 July. RTTY will be the main emphasis however they will be on CW and SSB on all HF bands. If they can scrounge up a 6 meter rig then they will be active there also. Some support has been made by the Summerside Prince Edward Island Amateur Radio Club and a few individual equipment donations to assist the group. Ted, NH6YK, has announced he will be on Midway Island as NH4/NH6YK from 6 July to 20 August. He will be working while on the island however he does plan to play radio while there. Ted is a Tech-Plus and plans to be active around 28480 +/-, 50110 and 28105 on packet. He may also try the US novice bands for CW. Leo Fry, K8PYD, will be operating as EI4VUJ, all bands, from 7 July to 19 July. He will be located in Leitrim County, one of the rarest, if not the rarest, of Irish counties. QSL via K8PYD CN8NL reports that on 8 and 9 July Moroccan stations will be using the special prefix CN68 to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Monarchy. Any station QSOing club station CN68MC and any two other CN68's (three QSO's in all) will be eligible for a nice certificate. Paul, BV4FH, reports that on 16 and 17 July a group of BV's and JA's will be activating the rare BV1 (Ilan Provence) call area, using the call BV0DX/1 as well as individual call signs /BV1. This provisional number, issued in accordance with normal practice where the operator has provided full advance details of his planned operation, will be confirmed when validation material is received. OC-221 has been issued to the KAI IS group in Indonesia as a result of the operation by YC8YR, a resident in Tual. Thanks are due to John Daluas, YB5NOF/8 and the HIDXA for obtaining and forwarding YC8YR's validation material. Validation material is awaited from YC8VYY for his operation from this group in May (don't submit cards yet to checkpoints for this latter operation).
