He may or may not get on the air from Fiji. He will leave Fiji on July 8th and go to Tarawa where he will sign T30BH. Ron will be joined by Jack, VK2GJH/T30JH, on July 13th. Following their joint operation on Tarawa both will head to Banaba on July 15th. Jack will use T33JH and Ron will use T33CW or T33RW. They will both be active on CW and SSB on 10 through 160 meters. Jack will have 6 meters also. They will leave Banaba on July 22nd. QSL via ZL1AMO and VK2GJH. Jack, 3D2JH/VK2GJH, reports he is on schedule and will be on Rabi Island Tuesday night. Alan, VK4AAR, told The Daily DX the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition (A.N.A.R.E.) is celebrating it's 50th anniversary and will have special event station VI0ANARE operating from July 1st until October 31st. This callsign may be used from different locations through out mainland Australia (VK1-6,8), Tasmania (VK7), Davis, Casey, Mawson (Antarctic bases) and Macquarie Island. If you work this callsign you should ask for the QTH each time. The OPTS reports the following frequencies should be checked: SSB - 3620, 7075, 14175, 21175 CW - 3532, 7020, 14052, 21052 QSL via VK4AAR direct only or via bureau to VK4ARB. Peter, 5X1T/ON6TT, reported to The Daily DX on Sunday he will be going to Burundi in about 15 days for work reasons. He does hopes to be on the air from 9U5CW for about one week. Don, N1DG, reports the newest ham from the United Arab Emirates is Abdullah, A61AQ. He currently has antennas for 10 and 15 meters and Don has shipped him a 20 meter monobander and linear. Those needing A6 might check 14240 between 00:00 and 01:00Z. Jun, JH4RHF, Kumiko (YL), JR4DUW, and Hiro, JR4PMX, will be operating from Lord Howe Island (VK9L) from July 24 to July 29th. They will also be participating in the IOTA Contest July 26th and July 27th. They hope to receive calls; VK9RH, VK9YL and VK9MX, respectively. Operations are planned for 10 through 80 meters CW and SSB. If enough interest they will operate RTTY and 160 meters. CY9AA - SAINT PAUL ISLAND - Mike reports they had openings on 15 and 12 meters into the US at 20:00 and 21:00Z respectfully. FK8FA - NEW CALEDONIA - Aimee (YL) was on 14270 Friday at 04:00Z. FR5ZU/T - TROMELIN ISLAND - Jacques was reported up on 14170 at 14:00Z on Friday working JA's. Work it first worry later. HZ1TA - SAUDI ARABIA - Check 14274 between 14:00 and 15:00Z. XW1 - LAOS - Zorro, JH1AJT, and company started from here on Saturday. On SSB they are signing XW1 (no suffix) and on CW XW1A.
