Activity is planned for 10 through 160 meters and they have also requested permission for 2 and 6 meters. The Maryland Apple Dumpling Radio Amateur Society (MADRAS) and the Voice of America Amateur Radio Club will operate the special event station K3VOA from the VOA Headquarters in Washington, DC to celebrate the 4th of July and the 55th Anniversary of the Voice of America. Look for them on 7240 and 14240 +/- from 12:00 to 22:00Z on July 4th. For a special QSL (not certificate) send your QSL with an S.A.S.E. to MADRAS, P.O. Box 2468, Wheaton, MD 20902. Bob, KK6EK, reports all of the stateside VK0IR QSL cards have been sent out. It is typically taking a few days now to process requests. John, W4FRU, Bob, K4JDJ, and crew have done a great job getting the QSLs out. The RSGB reports that the "Voice of Turkey" from Ankara, Turkey broadcasts a program called "DX Corner" every other Saturday which is in English. Try 12:45Z on 13750 or 15290; 18:45Z on 9445, 9675 or 13695; 22:15Z on 6135, 7280, 9560 or 9655. Jari, OH2BU/OH7RF, reports the Malyj Vysotskij Island DXpedition of OH5AB/MVI and R1MVI finished their operation on Monday June 16th at 03:30Z. A total of over 30,000 QSOs were made in 9 days. On 6 meters and RTTY they worked about 500 stations on both. QSLs for both R1MVI and OH5AB/MVI go to OH5NE, Orvo Arkko, Muukko, FIN-53400 Lappeenranta, Finland. They hope to be able to leave for Saint Paul Island predawn on Friday. FH5CB - MAYOTTE - Elio was found on 14262 around 20:30Z working Europe and North America. VS6 - HONG KONG - VR97IL was on 14180 at 16:20Z and VS97UW was on 14007 at 16:50Z. Don't forget the United Kingdom will be returning this jewel over to the Peoples Republic of China July 1st. ZA1MH - ALBANIA - Mike has been working lots of RTTY on 20 meters.
