They will be operating from the famous OH0W contest site using the call OH0/N4GN. Plans include the use of two complete stations which include Yeasu FT1000MP's and Alpha 91B's. Those deserving should check the following frequencies: Band SSB CW 80 3795 3502 40 7045 7002 30 10101 20 14195 14024 17 18115 18074 15 21295 21024 12 24935 24894 10 28495 28024 6 50110 50104 QSL via Tim Totten, N4GN (ex-KJ4VH), 8309 Dawson Hill Road, Louisville KY 40299-5317, U.S.A. Immediately following the Aland Island operation Tim, Martti and Timo will be joined by Seppo, OH1VR, Lars, OH0RJ, OH1RX (ex OH1NYP) and OH3FT on July 10th. The group will then be transported by the Finnish Coast Guard to the barren rock of Market Reef. The Rock is located about 2-1/2 hours west of Alands by small boat. Market Reef is a tiny dot of rock at 60ø 18' 10" North and 19ø 8' 3" east on most maps and charts and is nonexistent on others. Look for operations to start sometime late on Thursday evening, July 10th. OJ0/OH1VR will be operating in the IARU Radiosport Championship contest. OJ0/N4GN will be active before and after the contest and on the WARC bands during the weekend. Martti, Seppo and Lars are no strangers to the reef in fact Martti's initiative in late 1969 along with support by Armas Valste, OH2NB, then President of the Finnish Amateur Radio League (SRAL) was the driving force that put Market Reef on the DXCC list. Market Reef is one of the smallest DXCC countries measuring less than one square mile. RTTY and 6 Meter operations are planned from Market Reef. Operations will come to a halt on Monday, July 14th.
