Pertinent comments about the CY9AA DXpedition may be sent to Tom via e-mail to TOMK5RC@aol.com during the operation. Operators for this DXpedition are: Mike Smith, VE9AA, Doug Shepard, VE1PZ and Dennis Motschenbacher, K7BV. They will depart from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on the morning of June 26th on "The Heidi M II", a lobster boat. They will begin operating three stations once all stations are up and running with the basic antennae. With this in mind the operation should start sometime June 27th. They will be active on 2 through 160 meters, SSB, CW and some RS12. NB, CANADA E2V 3V6 Jim, W5ODD, has informed The Daily DX that he will be QRV from the U.S. Virgin Islands as W5ODD/KP2 from June 19th to June 25th. He plans to be active on CW only and mostly on the low bands and WARC bands. Dave Bendt, J52IM, confirms that Rob, ND3A, did make it to Bissau and was able to leave a key and keyer. Rob was unable to get on the air as Dave was TDY in Banjul, The Gambia during that time. Dave is active on SSB and plans to soon be on CW. His current station consists of a IC735 and an IC2KL. He has an A4S beam and a R7 vertical, neither of which are up very high however he has worked all states and DXCC. He is active mostly on 17, 20 and 40 meters SSB. Dave has another year in Bissau and then he will be moving on to another place. Dave hopes to be more active on CW now that he has a key and keyer. QSL via KB9XN. The Ocean DX Group reports that Jon, VK4CY, has been forced to pull out of the upcoming September VK9 Willis operation due to new work commitments.
