They will be participating in the IARU HF World Championship Contest. Look for them on 6 through 160 meters on CW, SSB and RTTY. The American Radio Relay League has requested the FCC to modify its Amateur Service regulations to authorize ham use of 7100 to 7300 kHz in the Territory of American Samoa on a non-interference basis to broadcasters "as a domestic exception to the International table of Frequency Allocations." Wayne, CY0SAB, now has the Windom, 6 meter beam and Cushcraft R5 up. He received his IC706 and is using a small HF amplifier. It appears that he will have more time this week to operate than the previous week. The OPDX reports that Paul, ZK2PJ, and Janice, ZK2JJ, will be on Niue Island for the next 2 years. Jeff, KA1GJ, reports that Murthada, A41LZ, will be on holiday during the month of July. Murthada is not quite ready to operate CW but hopes to be upon his return in early August. Tom, VK0TS, should be on 14222 with Jim, VK9NS, on Tuesday and Wednesday at 03:45Z. QSL via VK1AUS. Charlie, W0YG, will be active as V5/ZS6YG at the end of July. He says "I am going to make an effort to do some stuff on the lower bands for those who missed me last time."
