The equipment is all at the URE headquarters in Madrid. Operators include: DJ9ZB, EA3AOK, EA3BT, EA4BPJ, EA5AD, EA5GRC, EA6BH, EA6WV, EA7BJ, EA7JB, OH0XX, OH1RY and W9EVI. The URE expects to resolve the elusive visas for the nine Spaniards by the end of this month. The DX News Sheet reports that Chris, A71CW/SP5EXA, is now in Oman, A4, and is not on the air yet. Alain, F5LMJ, the secretary of the Clipperton DX Club announced the Clipperton DX Club International DX Convention will be September 20th and 21st at the Otell'inn Beaujore Hotel in Nantes, France. The 425 DX News reported that Alex, PA3DZN/D25L, is back in Angola and hopes to be on the air soon after fixing an antenna problem. JE1XRX is now operating from Honduras as JE1XRX/HR1 and expects to be active until June 1999. Arie, PA3FWG, will be active in July for about one month or less as 9M8ZZ and will be on RTTY. Last week for two or three days a station was signing CY0PDA claiming to be on Sable Island. He was mostly on 20 meters SSB and was saying to QSL via Mike, VE9AA. Mike reports that he is not the QSL manager and say this is a pirate. Theo, EA6BH, reports that the station signing 3C0DX on April 28th was a pirate. The OPDX bulletin reports that Steve Baker, 7Q7SB, a missionary who is currently on furlow is in the US will return to the mission field in Malawi July 16th and will remain for two or three years. He plans to get back on the air in September or October. He will be taking with him a SB200 amplifier, DXbase, and a rotator. QSL via AB4IQ. Charlie Harpole, K4VUD, reports that he will be in Kathmandu, Nepal on July 7th and plans to operate as 9N1VUD from July 8th to July 28th. He will be taking an ICOM 706, an Astron switching 20 amp DC supply, a Yeasu FL-2100B amplifier (500 watts), a Hustler vertical and dipoles. He plans to be in the IARU contest on July 14th and 15th.
