He started operating from Auckland on April 1st, and was supposed to be active for 5 days. Ed was expecting a big storm and may have left the island early. QSL via K8VIR. Steve, HA0DU, has announced that Zoli, HA5PP, will be working in Aden, Yemen (7O) starting in May. He may be there for a year or so. He plans to operate from Aden and will be working hard to see to it that his license gets approved by the MOC (ministry of communications) in Sana. Zoli, you may remember, operated from 3W8DX and XW8DX. He may be on the air by June. While he is in Aden he plans to make a few side trips including E3, T5, ST, ST0 and J2. Zoli plans to operate some RTTY. Pat, KE2LJ, reports that Art, N2NB, expects to be operating May 17 to May 23, 1997 from Kure Island, KH7K. Art hopes to operate 10 through 160 meters with an amp and a vertical. Bo, OZ8ABE, says that OH0/OZ1WF is a pirate. OZ1WF has not been active in some years. OH0/OZ1WF has been mostly on 80 and 160 meters. The Union de Radioaficionados Espanoles (URE) has planned a DXpedition to Annobon Island, 3C0, from May 20th to May 27th. They plan to take a least three complete stations, including amplifiers. Operators include : DJ9ZB, EA3AOK, EA3BT, EA4BPJ, EA4BT, EA5AD, EA5GRC, EA6BH, EA6WV, EA7BJ, EA7JB, OH0XX, OH1RY and W9EVI. QSL via HB9BRM. 5H3GU - Tanzania - This station was jumping around 28500 on Sunday between 12:00 to 13:00Z working Europeans. 5V7MD - Togo - Dave was working North and South America on Sunday at 15:25Z on 21285. QSL via AB7BB. 9K2MU - Kuwait - Murtada can be found often on 14008 around 15:00 to 16:00Z. QSL via WA4JTK. 9L1KA - Sierra Leone - This station was all over 30 meters this weekend. He was active in the SP contest. Chris was scheduled to be in Muscat the first of April. BV7GA - Taiwan - Billy likes to hang around 14177 between 13:00 and 14:00Z also between 16:00 to 17:00Z. CN8NM - Morocco - Likes to show up on 18140 between 11:00 and 13:00Z. D2M - Angola - Pete, OH3MEP has been very active this past week. Try 10101 at 01:00Z, 14030 at 18:00Z and 7001 at 23:00Z. He was also working east coast and mid west US stations at that time. EK6GC - Armenia - Bob was on Saturday and Sunday between 13:00 and 15:00Z on both 14005 and 14009.
