. ===================== *** The Daily DX *** ===================== Volume 1 Number 8 March 26, 1997 Edited by Bernie McClenny, W3UR ----------------------------------------------------------------- Headlines ----------------------------------------------------------------- Charlie, W0YG/ZS6YG reports that the cards for the recent V5/ZS6YG operation were approved and the production go-ahead given today. This operation was a major low band operation. Charlie said "I expect to have them in hand within the next two weeks." He also said "All labels have been printed which will allow me to start filling QSL requests immediately on receipt of the cards." He expects all requests for QSLs will be answered by the end of next month. If you haven't sent for you QSLs do it via W0YG (ex KY0A). Ken, LA6WEA reports that Per, JX7DFA, will be on 1824.5 during this weekend. This will be the last chance to work him on 160 meters. The CQ WPX SSB contest will make it a little difficult, however that is the only free time Per has before he returns to Norway. QSL via LA7DFA. ----------------------------------------------------------------- QSN ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3A2HB - Monaco - This is the second day in a week that Lou showed up on 160 meters working east coast US stations. Check between 1840 and 1843 from 04:00 to 05:30Z. QSL via CBA (callbook address) 8Q7BV - Maldives - Today should be the last day before Rolf goes back to Switzerland. Best bets would be 07 to 18Z on 17 or 15 meters, 18 to 20Z on 20 meters and 20 to 22Z on 30 meters. Rolf has been exclusively on CW. QSL via HB9DIF. 9M6TPR - Spratlys - Conditions were down yesterday as predicted. Best time for east coast US yesterday seemed to be 14:00 to 15:00Z. They leave on the 28th, and conditions are expected to get worse. QSL via KQ1F. A92GD - Bahrain - Bob made a surprise visit to 30 meters yesterday at 02:30. Bob says the only frequency Bahrainians are able to use on 30 meters is 10140.
