. ===================== *** The Daily DX *** ===================== Volume 1 Number 7 March 25, 1997 Edited by Bernie McClenny, W3UR ----------------------------------------------------------------- Headlines ----------------------------------------------------------------- Paul,K1XM ,and Charlotte, KQ1F, are doing a fantastic job on CW from the Spratlys as 9M6TPR. Their band plan was as follows: 09:00 to 10:00Z on 15 meters working Europe and Japan. From 10:30 to 11:15Z on 40 meters working Japan and West coast US. They went to 80 meters at 11:20Z and stayed until 13:00Z, working Japan and west Coast US. Then they went to 14029 and worked all across the US and Europe until 18:00Z. That's when they showed up on 30 meters and logged some more Europeans. They should be on until March 28th, however HF conditions are expected to get worse in the next few days, so don't hold off. QSL via KQ1F. Karl, PS7KM, from the recent St. Peter and Paul Rocks DXpedition reports "QSL cards are ready and will be mailed within one week for ZY0SG and ZY0SK." He also went on to say that those who sent more than one green stamp or IRC would be the first ones in the mail. Wayne Mills, N7NG, has been appointed by ARRL President Rod Stafford, KB6ZV, to chairman of the DXAC. Stafford made an excellent choice, as Mills has been on the other side of the pileup many times. The OPDX (Ohio Pennsylvania DX) Bulletin reports that the National Association Radioamateurs of Georgia (NARG) is not the only organization/QSL Bureau representing 4L amateurs in Georgia. There are at least 4 different organizations working with radio amateurs and associations. Al, 4L5A, President of Friendship World Wide Radio Club (FWWRC), states P.O. Box 1 Tbilisi, 380002 GEORGIA is used by FWWRC. Al recommends when working a 4L station to ask the Georgian amateur what organization they belong to. He also states some 4L stations do not belong to any organization. Al was kind enough to supply the following QSL routes of some stations: 4L1AB VIA CBA 4L1BW (Sergo) via N3CBW or CBA 4L1DX VIA OZ1HPS 4L1YY VIA SP5LME 4L5A via IK3HHX 4L5O (Omar) via TA7A CBA 4L7AA using several different addresses (ASK!) 4L8A VIA OZ1HPS 4L9A VIA IK3HHX NARG: P.O. Box 123, Tbilisi 380 004, Republic of Georgia. FWWRC: P.O. Box 1 Tbilisi, 380002 Georgia. ----------------------------------------------------------------- QSN ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3W - Vietnam - Three new stations showed up yesterday. 3W6AR on 3796 at 11:30Z, 3W6IG on 7003 at 10:40Z and 3W6UB on 21245 at 08:00Z working JA's. 5A1A - Libya - Was working Europeans on 21259 yesterday at 16:50Z.
