He was originally going to be using the Association Tunisian Radio Amateurs call 3V8BB. This special call is for the celebration of Mr. Ben Ali, for his eighth year as President. April 10 th through May 10 th several amateurs will be operating TS40A celebrating 40 years of independence. Any amateurs interested in operating from Tunisia should contact the DARC, as they coordinate who operates and when. Mark, 9X4WW/ON4WW has now applied for two new sets of frequencies. On 80 meters look for him on 3509/3799 and on 40 meters try 7009/7065. He should start using these frequencies this week. The Cabo Rojo Contest Club, WP3X will be active as a multi-multi in the CQ WPX SSB contest March 29 th and 30 th. QSL via W3FG with self addressed stamped envelope (sase) or self addressed envelope (sae) plus postage. He usually has some other Asian friend on frequency with him. 4S7BRG - Has been active today (3/18) on 7045 working Europeans around 20:00 Z. He was also on RTTY on 14086 at 18:20 Z. 6W1AE - Was heard CQing RS12 on 29445 and 21245 in Europe at 11:50 Z. 7X4AN - Likes CW and hangs out on 7005 and 3505. 7X2RO is also active on 40 and 80 meter CW. Both can be found between 22:00 and 02:00 Z. 7X5JF - Can be found almost daily on or about 3799 around 23:30 to 01:00 Z. He sometimes has 7X2LS in tow with him. 8Q7BE and 8Q7BV - The best place to get these two seems to be 20 meters either SSB or CW. Try around 14015 or 14195. 8Q7BV showed up to work Europeans at 10:00 Z on 21010 and then at 19:00 Z on 3510. 9M2AX and 9M2RY - Ross was on 3501 giving out CW Q's, While 9M2RY was up on 3796 giving out SSB Q's. Both were on at 14:40 Z working West coast US stations. 9M8FC - Showed up on 30 meters at 16:30 and stuck around till 17:30 Z. He was working Europeans. 9N1RHM - Rich was found working Europeans today on 18145 at 11:30 Z. Finding Nepal on a band other than 20 meters is not easy. BA4TB - Is active on 80 and 40 meters CW. He was on 3515 at 13:10 Z and the on 7001 at 14:10 Z working West coast US stations. BG4FJ was also active on 40 meter CW an hour later. BV2HL and BV2TA - Both were found on 7005 between 10:40 and 11:30 Z. C56/DK3FW - Dieter is really doing a number on the bands. He must be sleeping during the day, because he was active today (3/18) from 04:30 Z to 08:00 and then from 16:00 to 02:30. If you haven't worked him by now you haven't been trying. Today he was on 40, 30, 20 and 17 CW. QSL via DK3FW. CU7BA - Manny is active almost every day on 17 SSB. He has a great signal. DS5RNM - Lee is very active between 11:00 and 13:00 Z, usually between 3795 and 3800 working East coast and Midwest stations. ET3BT - Tensai was very active today, actually begging on 14226. He was working both Europe and North America. FR5 - FR5DT/J, FR5DX, FR5GX, FR5KH/J all showed up for a meeting on 14130 between 16:45 Z and 19:00 Z. FR5EK and FR5HA must not have gotten the meeting frequency as they showed up on 14135 and 14150 during the same time frame. GI3OQR - Dick has one of the louder signals and can hear well too on 160 meters. He usually can be found during the East coast sunset. HS9AL - Continues to be active from IOTA AS126. They have been on 20 SSB, 15 SSB and 40 CW. Best chance for US seems to be 14260 from 12:00 to 16:00 Z. QSL via I4LCK. JT1BG - Bator showed up from the rare zone 23 on 80 meters between 11:20 and 11:40 on 3799. JT1GV - Was found on 10102 between 19:45 and 20:40 working Europe and East coast US stations. Your author worked him but is not convinced he was for real. Work it first and worry later. QSL via UA1XE. JX7DFA - Per has resurfaced today on 14220. He will be on the island until April. He is active on CW, RTTY and SSB. He has also been on 160, 80 and 40 meters. QSL via LA7DFA. K9AW/KH2 - Europeans should look for him around 18070 between 10:15 and 11:30 Z. QSL via WF5T KH6AT and KH6CC - Both Brice and Jack were working Western Europeans around 05:00 Z on 160 CW. They were also working main- land W's. VP2END and VP2EUC - Have been busy boys operating both SSB and CW from 160 all the way to 15. QSL via JA4DND and JA5AUC.
